Frequently asked questions

How long does the balm last?

It depends on how much you're using the balm, but we've found they last a good couple of months.

How strong is the scent?

The scent is strong enough for most people to enjoy, but if you're used to artificial fragrances, it might seem delicate. Give your nose time to adjust if you're switching from fragranced balms.

My tube is discolouring, why?

When you apply the balm, your lips might touch the cardboard tube and accidentally transfer the oils and butters onto it. To stop this from happening, push the lip balm up enough so your lips don't touch the tube. The lid will push the balm back down again once you're finished with it.

If you're seeing the discolouring along the seam, the balm may have been left somewhere warm and melted slightly. The balm will solidify again, though the oil stain will remain. This is the nature of cardboard tubes, but the balm will still work perfectly.

How do I recycle the packaging?

Easy! The tubes are made of cardboard, so can be thrown into your composter. The tins are reusable, so wash them once you're finished and either keep or recycle them. As for the stickers, they are non-recyclable and must be thrown in the bin.

Does it expire?

Lip balms have an expiration date of 12 months, granted they've been stored correctly. If your balm looks or smells funny, discard it.

Do you really plant a tree with every order?

We sure do! We've partnered with Greenspark, a company that enables us to give a portion of our profits to offset 10kg of CO2, rescue 8 plastic bottles, and plant a tree with every order. So, by placing an order through our store, you're helping the planet. Thank you!
